KSI vs. Jake Paul takes a new twist as experienced promoter is brought in to revive talks of £100m rematch

The successful fight between KSI and Jake Paul has taken a new turn after promoter Kalle Sauerland was called in to revive talks.

The two former YouTubers and current boxers have been feuding for over half a decade, fueling demand for a lucrative showdown.

But the relationship between Paul's business partner Nakisa Bidarian and KSI's manager seems to be at an all-time low.

For this reason, Taylor's partner at Misfits Boxing, Sauerland, was entrusted with the negotiations.

He helped re-sign a deal for KSI to fight Tommy Fury last year, despite having nearly three decades of top-flight experience.

Sauerland told SunSport: “I have been involved in boxing for 24 years and have fought unification fights and world heavyweight championships with several belts.

“So I saw that it was no different on the traditional side than on the other side.

“You have to keep track of things, whether it's weights, purses, egos, whatever; choosing the dressing room, deciding who gets announced first.

“All of those things are part of putting on a big fight. So he didn't throw me under the bus. I'm always ready to go.”

“I get called in for certain fights to hold everything together. Tommy Fury was one of them last year, which obviously wasn't a small fight.

“Sometimes it's the old experience, you have three decades of boxing promotion behind you. That can help.”

KSI's team has claimed that a fight with Paul could bring in a lot £100 MILLION.

Sauerland said: “And the rest! It is a huge fight.”

“We all know that this is an area that needs to be understood in terms of numbers and that it is the equivalent of Mayweather-Pacquiao.

“That's the traditional part of the sport. So I think there are similar numbers.”

Sauerland admitted that talks with his counterpart Bidarian were not yet underway.

But his brother Nisse had worked with Paul's agent in the past – which raises new hopes for a deal.

KSI, 31, has not returned since his first defeat last October, when he lost on points to 25-year-old Fury.

He had to cancel his comeback on August 31 in a wild two-on-one fight against Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor due to a hand injury.

Paul, 27, meanwhile, returns on November 15 for a controversial fight with 58-year-old Mike Tyson, who has come under scrutiny because of the age difference.
