Tragic bus crash in Mississippi leaves seven dead and dozens injured

In a tragic incident east of Vicksburg, Mississippi, seven people were killed and dozens injured when a public bus overturned on westbound Interstate 20, authorities reported.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey confirmed that two siblings, ages six and 16, were among the dead. The 2018 Volvo bus was carrying 37 passengers who were taken to hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson with injuries of varying severity.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace described the situation as particularly tragic due to the high number of deaths and injuries. Officials said an investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched. Eyewitness and tow truck driver Keith Allison reported that many passengers were rescued from the bus, which had ended up in a ditch.
