Owen Sound Police have issued an arrest warrant for 31-year-old David Ward, who is wanted in connection with an assault and robbery that occurred in the city on August 18, 2024 (photo provided by Owen Sound Police Service).

Owen Sound police said they have arrested a third man in connection with a robbery and weapons incident.

According to police, Owen Sound police officers arrested the accused on August 30 on a warrant following an attack he committed on August 18 in the city's east end.

Officers were called to a residential car park after a man was attacked and found unconscious. Emergency services took the man to Brightshores Owen Sound. His condition deteriorated and he was flown by helicopter to a hospital in London with life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested and charged a man at the scene and continued to investigate the incident.

During their investigation, officers discovered that the victim had been attacked and two men had taken some of his belongings before running away. The victim then obtained an air pistol and chased the two suspects before shooting the windows of the vehicle they were in and smashing the window of a bus stop.

The OPP found the vehicle on an industrial site on the east side of the city and discovered over $4,000 worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl, weapons and other evidence during a search.

On August 22, police arrested and charged a second suspect.

The third man was released from custody yesterday after appearing in court and was given a court date in Owen Sound in October.
