Adele announces indefinite break from music: “You won’t see me for an incredibly long time”

Adele has announced that she will be taking an extended break from music after her Las Vegas performance in November.

At her last show in Munich on Saturday evening (August 31), the “Easy On Me” singer told her fans that she still had ten shows in Vegas, but after that she would not be seen for “an incredibly long time.”

The 36-year-old explained that she has been touring and performing non-stop for almost three years and is now ready to “live her life” again.

“I've spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now,” the singer said through tears. “I want to live the life I've built for myself and I'm going to miss you terribly.”

She explained that her tour was supposed to end with Munich, but she still has to play ten more shows in Vegas for her fans who missed them when she fell ill at the beginning of the 2022 tour.

“But after this, I won't see you for an incredibly long time,” she told the crowd in a fan-taken video shared on X/Twitter. “And I will carry you in my heart throughout my entire hiatus.”

The Grammy winner stressed that this was the “longest” time she had ever performed and that she would probably never stick to such a schedule again.

Adele's guest appearance at Caesars Colosseum in Las Vegas lasts until November 23rd of this year. It is not known when she will make music or perform again.

For the past three years, Adele has toured with her Grammy-winning album 30which featured the hits “I Drink Wine,” “Hold On,” and “Love is a Game.” The album, released in 2021, was her first release in six years following her acclaimed third album 25.

Adele's love ballads in 30 were written during a time of emotional turmoil following the singer's divorce from her husband Simon Konecki in 2019. The couple had been together since 2011 and secretly married in 2018.

The couple have a son together, Angelo, who was born in 2012, and continue to raise the child together even after their separation.

During the last three years that the singer lived in the USA, she found love again with American sports agent Rich Paul, whom she has been together since 2021.

It is believed that the couple will marry soon, as Adele told her fans on stage that she was “engaged” and referred to Paul as her “husband” on another occasion.

In an interview with ElleAdele celebrated her relationship with Paul, noting that she had “never been so in love.” “I'm obsessed with him. I'm just in love! I'm happier than I've ever been. I might as well be married,” she told the magazine.

Earlier this year, the singer spoke openly about her plans to start a family with Paul during a monologue at a show in Las Vegas.

“When I'm done with all my commitments and stuff and all my shows, I'm going to have a baby,” she explained. “And I want a girl because I already have a boy.”

She then told the audience about the possibility of having a little daughter: “She's going to keep me in my place all the time, isn't she? With me as a mother and Rich as a father, she's going to be a bossy little queen, isn't she?”
