Houston crime: Suspect flees after shooting 90-year-old and stealing his car

Houston police are investigating the tragic shooting of a 90-year-old man at a senior living facility on Westbrae Parkway. The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to authorities, the man was apparently sitting in his car when an unknown suspect approached, attacked and shot him. The suspect then stole the victim's belongings and his vehicle and hit him as he fled the scene. Police later found the stolen car abandoned at an apartment complex on Dunlap Street.

The suspect is described as a black man and is estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old.

When police arrived, they found an elderly man in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of Houston Fire Department paramedics, he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Authorities are still working to confirm the victim's identity.
