Woman shot in parked car

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – Lafayette police are investigating a shooting on Griggs Avenue in which a woman was shot in a parked vehicle.

According to the Lafayette Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of Griggs Avenue at approximately 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024. Officers found a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The victim was shot while sitting in a parked vehicle in front of a residence on Griggs Avenue, authorities said.

LPD detectives were called and the shooting is currently under investigation.
