2 men arrested for theft at a tractor accessories store in Great Barrington

GREAT BARRINGTON, Massachusetts (WGGB/WSHM) — Two men were arrested after an attempted robbery at a convenience store in Great Barrington.

On August 28, police responded to a call at a tractor supply store on Stockbridge Road about two men stealing power tools.

During the incident, an alarm was triggered and the suspects fled from the back of the store. Tractor Supply employees saw the two escape in a white Nissan sedan with temporary Florida plates.

Officers observed the vehicle leaving the parking lot and turning onto the street of another business and conducted a traffic stop.

They also checked the arrest warrants for suspects Keiver Garcia and Nixon Mendez. Mendez had an arrest warrant from Hanover for a similar theft.

The two suspects are being investigated for their possible connection to a large-scale shoplifting ring in the Northeast involving several tractor accessory stores.

They now face several charges.
