A century of murder for Naveen Patnaik's constituency! 100 people killed in Hinjili during BJD rule

Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's Hinjili constituency saw 100 murders during his tenure. During the 24 years of BJD rule, 100 murders took place in the constituency, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi told Parliament on Monday.

Responding to a question from BJP MP Pradyumna Kumar Nayak, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made shocking revelations in the Assembly. While Ganjam has allegedly turned into a den of criminals acting as political activists, the shocking number of murders came as a shock to all.

According to CM Mohan Majhi's reply, there were 100 murders and 328 arrests in Hinjili constituency. Shockingly, in only two of the 100 cases, the accused were convicted.

Police operations in Ganjam district

The remaining 69 cases are still pending in court while the accused have been acquitted in 22 cases. The CM also spoke about police operations in Ganjam district.

“There were at least 37 exchanges of fire between police and criminals in Ganjam district,” the chief minister said.

“In the 37 cases, at least 63 policemen sustained bullet injuries while 41 criminals were caught,” the CM said in a written reply to the assembly.

No comments could be obtained from the BJD in Parliament on the CM's reply.
