Robby McCrorie is likely to withdraw from Scotland's squad for Nations League matches

Robby McCrorie is expected to withdraw from Steve Clarke's squad for the Nations League double matches against Poland and Portugal due to a hip problem.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper was again on the bench for Kilmarnock's 1-1 Premiership draw with Hibernian at Rugby Park on Sunday.

The Scots face Poland in their League A Group 1 opener at Hampden Park on Thursday before travelling to Lisbon next Sunday, but it looks as though McCrorie will not be there.

Killie boss Derek McInnes said: “I'm not sure. Robbie is good enough to be on the bench at the moment.”

“He hasn’t been able to play yet, but we needed him on the bench.

“He is not completely fit and I could imagine that we will probably take him out of the squad for that reason.

“If he can kick the ball and is completely competent on that side, then we don’t want to take him out of the squad.

“But he's not ready yet. It will probably take about five or six days before he can do that without discomfort.

“His training was limited. He was just handling, not kicking. Until that settles down, we can't put him at risk.”
