Important Carter Vickers injury update after Celtic moonboot picture

The Celtic centre-back played the full length of the 3-0 win over Rangers on Sunday.

However, there were fears of injury as he left Celtic Park with a protective boot on his left leg.

Carter-Vickers had been given the day off from training before the game; Brendan Rodgers explained that his absence was a precautionary measure.

Now The Scottish Sun reports that the protective shoe is also a precautionary measure and does not indicate that the player will be out.

Carter-Vickers is not expected to play for the US national team during the international break and will therefore have time to recover from a minor injury.

The defender is reportedly still suffering from an injury he sustained in the game against St. Mirren last weekend.

According to the newspaper, Carter-Vickers is expected to be fit for the first league game after the international break against Hearts.

When asked about his absence from training on Friday before the win against Rangers, Rodgers said: “No, it's just about giving him a little day to recover.”

“Sometimes we do that in our meetings.

“If players are overloaded, we can take one or two out and give them a rest day after they've worked hard all week.”
