Dylan LeBlanc, 22, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Robert Mayes. The incident occurred on June 20, 2022, at an apartment complex in the 14230 block of Wunderlich Dr.

The investigation began after officers from Harris County's 4th Precinct responded to a ceasefire at the complex around 9 p.m. They discovered evidence of a shooting but no victim at the scene. Shortly afterward, officers were alerted to an unconscious man at a nearby Signature Care clinic.

According to investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Mayes was an innocent bystander when LeBlanc fired his gun at another man he was arguing with, accidentally hitting Mayes. Mayes, who was a bystander, was struck by the gunfire and later pronounced dead at a nearby emergency center.

Mayes, who had multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, was pronounced dead on arrival.

LeBlanc was arrested without incident by the HCSO's Criminal Investigation Unit (VIPER).
