Armed man breaks into house in Toledo and attacks victim

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo man was arrested after police say he broke into a home, assaulted someone and fired a gun.

Omar Long Jr., 21, of Toledo, is charged with aggravated burglary, obstruction of public order and resisting law enforcement. He was arrested in the 800 block of St. John Ave. around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, according to Toledo police records.

Charging documents say he entered a victim's home with a gun. Once inside the home, he allegedly attacked the victim, police said.

The victim managed to escape the house and police say Long fired a gun into the air “out of anger.”

Officers arrived on the scene to respond to the call about the shots fired and handcuffed Long. Police say he ran away from an officer and ran toward the victim.

His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
