DMX's family speaks out

A possible film biography about the life of New York rap legend DMX is currently causing discussions. Irv Gotti, producer and co-founder of DMX's former label Murder Inc., recently claimed to be working on the film. The family of the “Ruff Ryders Anthem” rapper probably still has a say in the matter.

DMX family on biopic: “We are not working with Irv Gotti on a biopic”

In a lengthy statement on Instagram, Tashera Simmons, DMX's wife, commented on Irv Gotti's film announcement on behalf of the rapper's family. She made it clear that the family is neither working with the Murder Inc. boss nor has agreed to a partnership for a DMX biopic.

Due to DMX’s icon status, the family will ensure that any future project by and about the rapper “only with the utmost respect and integrity” If there are any official DMX announcements, you will hear about it on the family's channels.
