Millom defeats Myton Warriors and avoids relegation

Barrow Island, which needs a point in its last game of the season, can also certainly fight for the title.

They should fend off the threat from Saddleworth, who have a much smaller points difference.

Millom were in full control of their game at Devonshire Road, with tries from Jude Lupton (2), Josh Blinkhorn (2), Connor Terrill (2), Tom Askew, Kyle Evans and Joe Wright.

The Woolybacks went into the break leading 28-10, but saw the Humberside team quickly build a 10-point lead.

But from then on it was one-way traffic.

Barrow Island earned a fine 32-8 win at Saddleworth and went into halftime with a 20-0 lead.

Tries came from Finn Dutton, Josh McBain, Carl McBain, Max Anderson-Moore and Declan Baines, with Sam Jones contributing six goals.

In the second division of the NWML, the Hindpool Tigers delivered champagne rugby and defeated the Roose Pioneers 60-14 in Redwaters.

The Tigers soon found themselves 6-0 down with a try from Tom Heighton converted by Ryan Kyte.

And it was Kyte who crossed from the dummy-half position, but could not convert the ball to make it 0-10.

The Tigers extended their lead while keeping the ball in play for Paul Rickleton, who scored to make it 14-0.

With a high ball into the corner, Finn Goodings jumped over Matty Gedlin and scored a goal on the outside of the goal. Kyte made it 0:20.

During the Pioneers' first attack, Ben Niven stormed up the field, where Olie Dilks was stopped at the line.

During a counterattack, Connor McDermott galloped forward and scored the first of four tries, Grant Burns converted to make it 0:26.

Niven came close again before Taylor Roberts scored a missed attempt to make it 4:26.

Evan James played strongly for the home team, who fell further behind with a brilliant try. Jack Osman made a decisive break but was held up, but Rocco Scarponi was able to step in with quick hands in the corner. Burns converted to make it 4:32.

Dilks was stopped over the line, while Craig Deakin also went close before finishing the half with a try at 4:36.

After a nice move by Reece Craig, the gap opened up for McDermott to make it 40:40.

Matty Roberts soon responded for the Pioneers, while a few minutes later James stormed in from 20 meters out and Sam Beattie converted to make it 14:40.

Further tries came from Goodings, McDermott (2) and Rickleton, who scored two more goals.

Ulverston lost 38-26 to Wigan St. Cuthbert's at Dragley Beck, having been 8-24 down at half-time.

Trys came from Jack Aiken, Josh Catlett, Matt Dean, Dave Beck and Kieron Potter, with Marc Storey scoring three goals.

Dalton's home game against Thatto Heath 'A' was cancelled due to the St. Helens team failing to field enough players.

This Saturday, Dalton will face Burtonwood at Kelland Park and a win could see them crowned Division 1 champions.

In the Cumberland League, a weakened Askam team lost 62-12 at Flimby. The tries came from Jude Everett-McNamara and Dylan Barrow, two goals came from Lewis Stables.
