Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) [India]September 3 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Minister for Skill Development and Employment Gautam Tetwal offered prayers along with his family at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain district on Tuesday on the occasion of his birthday.

Minister Tetwal also attended the Bhasma Aarti and was engrossed in his devotions as he sat in the Nandi Hall of the temple.

'Bhasma Aarti' (ash offering) is a famous ritual here. It is performed during 'Brahma Muhurta' between 3:30 am and 5:30 am. According to religious belief, the wishes of the devotee who takes part in Bhasma Aarti are fulfilled.

According to the priest of the temple, as per tradition, the doors of Baba Mahakal were opened on Brahma Muhurta and after that a holy bath of Lord Mahakal was performed with Panchamrit which includes milk, curd, ghee, sugar and honey. After that Baba Mahakal was adorned and then Bhasma Aarti and Dhoop-Deep Aarti were performed amidst the beating of drums and blowing of Shankh (conch shells).

After worshipping Baba Mahakal, Minister Tetwal told ANI, “Today I got the opportunity to participate in Baba Mahakal's Bhasma Aarti. Today is also my birthday and I got the blessings of Baba Mahakal. With the blessings of CM Mohan Yadav and Baba Mahakal, I got the opportunity to serve the people of Ujjain and I am thankful for that.” “I pray to Baba Mahakal to keep his blessings for Madhya Pradesh and the country. May our nation be given respect, honour and prestige,” he added. (ANI)
