3-year-old boy pulled from pond in Chesterbrook, later died: police

CHESTERBROOK, Pennsylvania.A three-year-old boy has died after being pulled from a body of water in Chesterbrook on Labor Day, according to police.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the Wilson Farm Park area on Lee Road.

Officers were dispatched to Wilson Park following reports of a missing three-year-old boy.

When officers arrived, they found the boy in the pond within five minutes and pulled him out of the water.

He was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in King of Prussia, where he was pronounced dead.

At about the time of the incident, Tredyffrin Township Police asked residents to avoid the area around Wilson Farm Park because of increased police activity, including helicopters.

“We are still investigating, we are still in the very early stages,” said Captain Tyler Moyer of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department. “Right now our thoughts and prayers are with the family and we are trying to help them as best we can. We will get some more information throughout the night and tomorrow morning.”
