Arrest warrant issued against husband after woman's body found

A married couple is found in a house – the woman dead, the man seriously injured. The 57-year-old remains silent on the matter. But the public prosecutor has a suspicion.

Zweibrücken (dpa/lrs) – After the discovery of a dead woman in Althornbach (Southwest Palatinate) has the District Court of Zweibrücken An arrest warrant has been issued against the husband. The 57-year-old is strongly suspected of manslaughter, the public prosecutor's office in the Palatinate city announced. The man has not yet commented on the matter and is receiving inpatient treatment.

He was seriously injured by a witness in a residential property on August 27, as was his dead wife. The autopsy revealed that the 51-year-old had suffered several stab wounds. The investigation has found no evidence of third-party involvement. The background to the incident was initially unclear.

Althornbach is located south of Zweibrücken, not far from the French border. The town belongs to the Zweibrücken-Land collective municipality and has around 700 residents.
