Kareena solves murder case as social tensions flare up in trailer for 'The Buckingham Murders'

Mumbai, September 3 (IANS): The trailer for the upcoming film “The Buckingham Murders” starring Kareena Kapoor Khan was unveiled at a multiplex in Mumbai’s Juhu district on Tuesday.

The event was attended by Kareena, Ektaa R. Kapoor and Hansal Mehta. In it, Kareena plays the role of a tough cop who solves the murder of a child in her neighbourhood while battling her personal demons.

The situation escalates and tensions arise between the Muslim and Sikh communities in London after a man from the Muslim community is arrested on suspicion of murdering a Sikh child. The story takes a new twist when it turns out that the murdered child was adopted by his parents.

The film also stars celebrity chef Ranveer Brar, who plays the role of the father of the murdered child, Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar and Keith Allen. It is directed by Hansal Mehta of Aligarh fame. The film also marks a new journey for Kareena as a producer after 25 years in the industry.

This is Kareena’s fourth collaboration with Ektaa R. Kapoor after ‘Veere Di Wedding’, ‘Crew’ and ‘Udta Punjab’.

The film also received great appreciation at the BFI London Film Festival 2023 and the Mumbai Film Festival 2023 and people spoke very positively about the film.

“The Buckingham Murders” was written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakker.

Presented by Balaji Telefilms, produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mahana Films and TBM Films, the film is scheduled to release on September 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Kareena also has 'Singham Again' in the pipeline, which marks her return to the 'Singham' franchise. The film is directed by Rohit Shetty and will hit the theatres on November 1.
