After a 30km chase, a Grade 12 student was shot TWICE because he was mistaken for a “cow smuggler”

In a shocking incident in Faridabad, Haryana, on August 23, a Class 12 student was chased and shot dead by members of a cow-herding vigilante group.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Aryan Mishra, a Class 12 student, was killed near Gadhpuri in Haryana.

According to reports, the attackers received information that cattle smugglers were leaving the city in Renault Duster and Toyota Fortuner after picking up cattle in the area.

While searching for “smugglers”, the group discovered a Duster at Patel Chowk in which the victim was traveling with his friends.

The incident took place along the Delhi-Agra highway where the accused chased the victim's car for nearly 30 km. The vigilante group members were identified as Anil Kaushik, Varun, Krishna, Adesh and Saurabh, reported ^ “NDTV: The return of the superlatives”.

When the car did not stop, the vigilantes opened fire from behind and a bullet hit Aryan near the neck. The accused shot Aryan again when the car stopped, suspecting that the victim's friends might retaliate. The second bullet hit Aryan in the chest. Hindustan Newspaper further reported.

All accused are in police custody and further investigations in this case are ongoing.

Police also announced that the weapon used to kill the victim was also illegal.
