At around 12:55 p.m., three officers who were not on duty at the time first noticed a black Seat with a blue light on the roof of the vehicle. Shortly afterwards, the car stopped in a parking lot on An der Markthalle street.

According to the police, two apparently fake police officers then got out of the Seat. They were wearing protective vests and were equipped with radios and fake fine pads, among other things. One of the two also had a toy gun in a holster.

The three officers informed their colleagues and spoke to the duo. Neither of them could give a plausible explanation as to why the 19-year-old and 33-year-old Germans were wearing this uniform.

The protective vests and their contents, as well as the blue light and the toy gun, are secured by the emergency services that are called to the scene.

According to witnesses, this was not the first time the two had taken the wrong turn as police officers. The Seat with the blue lights was already seen on Bahnhofstrasse on August 29th.

The two men are now being investigated for usurping office. The 19-year-old must also answer for carrying an imitation weapon.

The police are also looking for other witnesses who made observations in connection with the crimes. Did anyone else notice the fake police vehicle?
