Israeli attack on UN shelter in Gaza Strip kills 8 Palestinians in bread line

In the Gaza Strip, at least eight Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack today as they queued to buy bread. The attack hit the facade of a United Nations-run school that shelters thousands of displaced people in the Jabaliya refugee camp. The massacre followed the killing of 11 Palestinians on Sunday in an Israeli attack on the Safad school in Gaza City. Rescue workers say a woman and a girl were among those killed.

Mahmoud Basal: “The occupying forces have attacked the west wing of the school, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries among the civilians housed there. We are witnessing a real massacre and extremely gruesome scenes. Civil defense and medical teams are working to recover bodies and save as many lives as possible, but the situation is deeply tragic and the reality we are facing here is extremely difficult.”
