CCTV footage released as part of investigation into arson at Isle of Wight hotel

Today (Tuesday 3 September) a 20-year-old man from Sandown was arrested on suspicion of arson.

The man is currently still in custody.

Officers had previously arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of arson. He is free on bail until November 18.

The investigation into the arson is ongoing and the South Wight Neighbourhoods Policing Team is “pursuing every single point of inquiry”.

A Hampshire and IW Constabulary spokesman said: “Police continue to patrol the area and work with local partners to address issues relating to the site, its security and associated anti-social behaviour and crime.”

“As part of our investigation, we would like to identify the person seen in the CCTV image. Do you know who he is?”
