Bobi Wine is shot in the leg during political activities in Bulindo, total chaos breaks out

Singer-politician and Chairman of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Bobi Wine, is recovering from an injury sustained in the leg after being shot during political activities in Bulindo, Kira. According to dramatic footage circulating on social media, his security team and companions were seen immediately tending to Bobi Wine.

Panic broke out when the 41-year-old was taken to the nearby Najeem Medical Centre for first aid and then transferred to Nsambya Hospital for further treatment.

According to sources, the unrest began when Bobi Wine visited the home of NUP lawyer and councillor George Musisi. When he returned, shots were fired, allegedly by a police officer, although the reasons behind this are still unclear.

Witnesses at the scene described a chaotic moment when a Bobi Wine supporter clashed with police, leading to a scuffle. In an attempt to calm the situation, Bobi Wine reportedly got out of his vehicle to mediate, but was hit by a bullet fired by a police officer. The specific police officer involved has not been identified, but reports suggest that the order to open fire may have come from Kira's Officer in Charge (OC), Afande Twesigye.

As the situation spiralled out of control, Bobi Wine's supporters demanded answers from the police and angrily questioned the necessity of the shooting. Tensions continued to escalate, with supporters shouting at the police to either explain themselves or leave before more blood was shed.

The exact details of the shooting are currently unclear, but the injury to Bobi Wine's leg has certainly further inflamed an already charged political climate. His supporters are now seeking clarity on why the popular politician and musician was targeted, and the incident is likely to spark further debate about the growing tensions between Bobi Wine's political movement and law enforcement.
