Jake Paul is asked if he has a replacement opponent for his fight against Mike Tyson after insisting the 58-year-old is “super healthy.”

Jake Paul is not worried about his fight against Mike Tyson being postponed again.

The two were scheduled to face each other in a controversial crossover duel on July 20.

However, the fight was canceled after Tyson developed a stomach ulcer on a flight to Los Angeles in May.

Although Iron Mike's PR team insisted that he had “fully recovered,” after further examinations by doctors he was deemed medically unfit to compete this summer.

As a result, Mike Perry stepped in as a replacement for the former undisputed heavyweight champion on the original date and was subsequently stopped in the sixth round, while Paul vs. Tyson was postponed to November 15.

Concerns have been raised about Tyson's health as he prepares to face a man 31 years his junior, but Paul insists the 58-year-old is in great shape.

“The Problem Child” is so confident that his fight with Tyson will take place that he has not even organized a replacement opponent.

“I'm not worried,” Paul told TMZ when asked about the situation. “He's doing great. Behind the scenes, he's super healthy and feeling great.”

“So that’s what we’re focusing on and there’s no alternative at the moment.”

Paul vs. Tyson has been approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) as a professional heavyweight fight.

However, the competition will be held according to a modified set of rules.

The fight will consist of eight rounds of two minutes each instead of the usual three-minute rounds, with both boxers wearing 14-ounce gloves instead of 10-ounce mitts.

Knockouts are allowed and the result of the contest will be entered into the professional records of both men.

Tyson has not competed in the paid ranks since June 2005, when he suffered a loss to Kevin McBride.

“Iron Mike” was thoroughly beaten by the Irishman before he lay down on his chair at the end of the sixth round.

Mike Tyson's former sparring partner Joe Egan calls Jake Paul's fight a “glorified sparring session” while sharing Roy Jones Jr's theory and prediction

In a candid interview immediately afterwards, Tyson admitted: “I realized I didn’t have what it took anymore.

“I'm able to stay in shape, but I don't have the fighting spirit anymore. I'm basically just fighting to pay my bills.”

“I don't have the stomach for it anymore. I pay more attention to my children. I'm not so wild anymore, I'm not that animal anymore.”

“Most likely I will not fight again. I will not disrespect the sport by losing to fighters of this caliber.”

19 years later, Tyson returns to the ring to face Paul in what his former sparring partner Joe Egan called a “glorified sparring session.”

“Jake Paul has probably boxed a million times as Mike Tyson on Nintendo and Gameboy and now he gets to share the ring with one of the greatest heavyweight champions of all time,” Egan told talkSPORT.com.

“For me, it's going to be a glorified sparring session. When Mike fought Roy Jones Jr., he hit Roy with a body shot and sunk him – and Mike knew he could hurt Roy Jones.

“Anyone Mike hits will hurt, probably knock him out, but he carried Roy Jones.

“I never believed Mike Tyson could beat anyone because when I trained with him in Catskill, every punch he threw was with bad intentions. He was a vicious, wild, impetuous heavyweight.

“It's wonderful to see him mellow with age and to see what he's done with Roy Jones is incredible.

“Jake Paul was on the undercard and when he saw Mike holding his punches, they were probably confident.

“You have to admire him for stepping into the ring against Mike Tyson, but I don't think Mike will fight him at full strength.

“I don't think so, because if Mike were to attack Jake Paul with full force, he could seriously injure him, no matter how old he is.

“Mike will have lost a lot of speed with age, but he will not have lost his power, and George Foreman showed that when he knocked out Michael Moorer in the tenth round at the age of 45.

“As soon as Michael Moorer slowed down, George knocked him out.

“The power will always be there, but the speed will decrease.”

Tyson has since tried to prove the skeptics wrong by releasing workout footage from his training camp as he prepares for his return to the ring.

He has fought professionally since his retirement, albeit in an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn is not a fan of this duel.

“For me, it's really sad because Mike Tyson was one of my idols growing up and to see him fight at 57, 58 years old … but I also understand that a lot of people are going to tune in and watch,” Hearn said.

“It's an entertainment event, Netflix. It's great to see her in boxing. I think it's going to do really well. But it's just not for me.

“I don't think you should be fighting at 57. But the guy was also one of the greatest fighters of all time,” Hearn continued.

“Why would you want to start at five percent of your starting position and lose to a guy like Jake Paul?

“He shouldn't have to do that, but the world is the world we live in.”

Paul will likely go into the fight as the favorite as he is at his physical best at 27, but many believe Tyson is still capable of landing one final knockout blow.
