Police arrest fourth man after shooting at public housing complex in Kinston

KINSTON, NC (WITN) – Kinston police say another man is behind bars in connection with the second of three reported shootings in a week at an Eastern Carolina apartment complex.

Police said 23-year-old Tyrone Artis of Kinston is now behind bars after being arrested over the weekend along with Davantae Moore, T-Derrik Artis and Joshua Wilson for a shooting.

Investigators link the four men to a shooting on Aug. 26. Officials say camera footage showing the 5:30 p.m. shooting at the Mitchell Wooten public housing complex helped with the arrest.

Wilson was arrested two days after the shooting on August 27. Moore and T-Derrik Artis were arrested three days later on August 29.

According to police, no one was injured in the shooting.

This shooting is one of two others that occurred at the apartment complex within four days. Police told WITN that neither shooting is related.

The incident occurred before the gunfire death of 22-year-old Anzaryia Cobb on Sunday and the shooting that injured 36-year-old Sylvester Arrington on Wednesday.

WITN was told that none of these men live in the Mitchell-Wooten complex.
