TRANSCRIPT OF THE MISSION:
Fighting food shortages in Southwest Tallahassee.

Envision Credit Union hosted the Envision no Hunger initiative for the fifth year.

This year the group has raised over $83,200 in donations.

Envision presented a check to Pineview Elementary today.

The money will go towards expanding Second Harvest of the Big Bend’s School Market Pantries program.

Pineview is one of 19 schools in the region with a market pantry.

Carmen Connor, principal of Pineview Elementary, told ABC 27 about the program.

“We have two food pantries at Pineview Elementary School. One of them is located here at our school and is available to our families. We also have a relief shelf outside in our parking lot that also provides food to our community. This relief shelf is stocked every day and is empty at the end of the day.”

Second Harvest of the Big Bend plans to increase the number of schools with food pantries to 36 by the end of this school year.
