Chicago Bears announce “unofficial” lineup for Week 1

The Chicago Bears have a game in five days and with that comes another unofficial lineup. The unofficially Some of these are important to note because they are generally put together by the team's communications department, not the coaching staff. While coaches could step in if something is completely off, they usually don't.

That's not to say the depth chart isn't based in reality to some extent. It just shouldn't be taken as infallible gospel.

Anyway, here is the Bears' lineup for week one against the Tennessee Titans.

ATTACK

Keenan Allen and DJ Moore start at wide receiver, but if Rome Odunze comes in for a three-receiver set, Allen will move to the slot.

Also, the Bears could start the year with 10 offensive linemen on the roster until they see how their injured players look this week. If Ryan Bates shows he's 100% fit, I wouldn't be surprised to see Doug Kramer Jr. released.

DEFENSE

If the Bears are not on the nickelback team, Jack Sanborn will fill the strongside linebacker position.

There have been rumors that defensive tackle Zacch Pickens may have a minor injury, so if he's unavailable in Week 1, expect DeMarcus Walker to get some action.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Long snapper Scott Daly is on the practice squad, so on game day he will either be upgraded by default to face the Titans or a roster move will be made to add him to the 53-man roster.

As for the return game, the only thing I'm sure of is that Velus Jones Jr. will be the primary kick returner. DeAndre Carter could be back there with him, but a reserve running back could line up two players behind him.

Rome Odunze has done some punt return reps in practice, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the chance first.

Do you have any insights into the Bears' unofficial lineup before Week 1?
