Cyclist suffers serious injuries in crash with car!

A serious accident occurred in Buchloe on Tuesday. A cyclist collided with a car and sustained serious injuries.

An 82-year-old cyclist was taken to a specialist clinic by helicopter on Tuesday after she collided with a car in Buchloe. According to the police, the cyclist turned right from the Neue Mitte onto Bahnhofstrasse at 11:45 a.m., but then swerved to the left and thereby cut off the right of way of a car coming from the left.

Cyclist suffers serious injuries in accident

The 43-year-old driver was unable to prevent a crash. The woman suffered serious injuries as a result of the impact, police reported. They were not wearing a helmet.

The total damage amounts to around 10,000 euros. A witness observed the incident. The police are now investigating how exactly the accident occurred.

Fatal bicycle accidents in Haldenwang and Mittenwald

In recent days there have been a number of serious bicycle accidents in which cyclists have been injured, some of them fatally. On Saturday a 41-year-old cyclist fell so badly between Haldenwang and Börwang that he sustained severe head injuries. He died of his injuries in hospital on Sunday.

A week earlier, an accident in Mittenwald also ended tragically. For unknown reasons, a 26-year-old cyclist came off a footpath, hit a wooden fence with her front wheel and was thrown several meters through the air before landing in the driveway of an adjacent property. The young woman was so badly injured that she was flown to hospital in a critical condition. She lost the fight for her life on Sunday night.

What is striking is that both cyclists who died in the accident, just like the 82-year-old cyclist in Buchloe, were not wearing a bicycle helmet at the time of the accident.
