Bengaluru: According to sources, the 4,800-page chargesheet in the fan murder case, to be filed on Wednesday, confirms the role of jailed Kannada superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa in the crime.

The chargesheet against Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda and 15 accomplices will be presented before the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court.

The chargesheet mentions the role of Darshan and Gowda in conspiracy, planning, kidnapping, torture, murder, destruction of evidence and planning to mislead the police by making four of his accomplices surrender in connection with the murder of his fan Renukaswamy.

Renukaswamy was murdered for allegedly sending abusive messages to Pavithra. The chargesheet contains the statement of one of the accused, who agreed to appear as a prober in the case and gave all the details and role of Darshan and others and the crime to the police, the sources claimed.

Police have matched the defendants' locations on surveillance towers with the crime scene, and calls and messages between the defendants match the time of the crime.

Most importantly, the police have received confirmation from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) about the presence of blood stains on Darshan’s clothes.

The police have retrieved Darshan's messages informing him when Renukaswamy was taken to the shed.

The accused had sent a photograph of Renukaswamy to Darshan and the police had found it, the sources claimed.

The police also have CCTV footage showing Darshan leaving the pub, reaching the shack in Rajarajeshwari Nagar area and returning to the pub after attacking Renukaswamy.

In between, Darshan went to his apartment to change his clothes and, according to sources, the police have also collected footage of this.

Most importantly, investigators recorded the statements of 24 witnesses before the judge. Photos from the mobile phone of one of the accused, Pradush, were recovered.

The police have also collected statements of the four accused who were persuaded by Darshan and the gang to surrender to the police and take responsibility for Renukaswamy's murder.

The police mentioned how the accused were lured by promising them money and protection through darshan.

Meanwhile, sources in Ballary Jail, where Darshan is currently lodged, claimed that he did not sleep the entire night and was seen pacing around his cell in a tense state.

Darshan is also seen praying and doing yoga. The remand of him and other accused has been extended till September 9.

Three more cases were filed against Darshan for availing luxury treatment in Bengaluru Central Jail. Darshan's photograph of him sitting on a chair with violent Wilson Garden Naga outside his barracks, holding a coffee cup in one hand and a cigarette in the other, had sparked a huge uproar.

Police have suspended nine officials, including two jail guards, and filed three FIRs. Sources said the photograph was circulated in the open to threaten the eyewitnesses that they would not be spared as violent sheeter Wilson Garden Naga is handling things for Darshan.

The gruesome murder of Renukaswamy took place on June 8 in Bengaluru. Renukaswamy was kidnapped from his hometown Chitradurga, brought to Bengaluru, kept in a shed and tortured to death.

After the murder, his body was thrown into a canal. The incident came to light when security personnel at a private residence saw the body being dragged behind him by a pack of dogs.
