Death of Matthew Perry: Trial date set for “ketamine queen” and doctor involved in the case

Trouble looms for “Ketamine Queen” Jasveen Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who are accused of supplying Friends actor Matthew Perry with drugs that led to his death by overdose. Matthew Perry died on October 28, 2023, leaving the world in shock.

According to official reports, a court date has been set for the trial of Jasveen and Salvador.

If found guilty, the two face several decades in prison. At the time of arraignment, both pleaded not guilty.

“Ketamine Queen” Jasveen Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plasencia in trouble

The case is based on the assumption that the two exploited Matthew Perry's drug addiction. US Attorney Martin Estrada wrote in his complaint that the “Ketamine Queen” and Dr. Salvador Plasencia “exploited Mr. Perry's addiction problem to enrich themselves.”

The date for their joint trial in the United States has been set for March 4, 2025.

Jasveen Sangha and the doctor were arrested on August 15 for conspiracy to distribute ketamine. Dr. Salvador Plasencia is also charged with one count of possession of ketamine with intent to distribute, five counts of distribution of ketamine, one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and one count of operating drug premises.

The doctor is also accused of seven counts of ketamine trafficking and two counts of altering and falsifying documents and records.

According to court documents, “If convicted on all counts, Sangha would face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and a statutory maximum sentence of life imprisonment. Plasencia would face up to 10 years in federal prison for each ketamine-related count and up to 20 years in federal prison for each falsification count.”
