Elections in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir will hold assembly elections on September 18, 25 and October 1. The results of the elections will be announced on October 8. Significantly, the 2024 elections will be the first elections in the valley since the provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution were abrogated and the erstwhile state was bifurcated into two Union Territories in 2019.

The BJP won 25 seats in the last general elections in 2014 and is making all efforts this time to fend off the challenge from a resurgent Congress, which has formed an alliance with the National Conference.
