Andaman and Nicobar Command hosts first AnTech exhibition, defence companies showcase innovations

Port Blair (Andaman and Nicobar Islands) [India]September 4 (ANI): The Andaman and Nicobar Command, an integrated command of all three services of the armed forces, hosted a first-ever two-day ANTech exhibition and seminar at Port Blair on September 2 and 3. Inaugurated by Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, the event was conducted in collaboration with CII and SIDM and aimed at strengthening ties between the defence industry and the Ministry of Defence.

The ANTech event demonstrated the determination of the Armed Forces to promote technological innovations in line with the motto ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. It provided a platform for various stakeholders to understand the challenges faced by the Armed Forces and propose solutions to the same.

At the event, Delhi-based defence company Aimtrex showcased its latest innovations at the two-day ANTECH event hosted by the Andaman and Nicobar Command. The company highlighted that Aimtrex's innovations include advanced indoor firing ranges and vertical wind tunnels, among others.

“We design and build indoor shooting ranges to specific requirements. Our ranges are fully soundproof and shooters can check the target on a display without having to approach the target, making the process more time-efficient,” explained Aimtrex spokesman Sanjay Kumar.

He also pointed out that Aimtrex manufactures vertical wind tunnels that are used by special forces for paragliding training and for killing stations.

Arjun Naik, founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based Scandron, also spoke at the event. Scandron specialises in logistics, surveillance and custom drones.

“This is the first time we are interacting with the Andaman and Nicobar Command,” Naik said. “We want to demonstrate our drone capabilities to the troops here and understand how we can support their operations. We hope to conduct trials soon and participate in more opportunities like ANTECH.” ANTech serves as a platform to bridge the gap between the operational requirements of the Andaman and Nicobar Command and advanced solutions from the Indian defence industry.
