Victim of clergyman rape responds to investigation report on past sexual abuse in schools

“I have fought the fight and will continue to fight for those who cannot do it themselves.”

The powerful words of Felix O'Neill, a clergy rape victim and founder of tuambabies.org. Mr O'Neill spoke about the investigative report released yesterday into past sexual abuse at several religious schools across the country.

The report includes over 2,400 allegations against 884 alleged abusers at over 300 schools – including a number of schools in Carlow and Kilkenny

Mr O'Neill explained to the KCLR Daily the toll it has taken on his life: “If I don't keep fighting I'm going to die. I have to survive. I can't give up or I'll just die. It's ruined my life. It's a lonely road and a lonely fight but I'm determined. I'm a fighter. I've been right on all the occasions I've fought but it's a big fight. When you go to court they try to destroy you, they humiliate you. They'll try to take your life from your hands, every second of it.”
