Burglary suspects arrested at St. John's University by NYPD investigators


QUEENS, NY — Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a break-in at St. John's University on August 20, 2024, according to the New York Police Department.

Emanuel Yakubov, 25, and a 17-year-old male, whose name was not released due to his age, were taken into custody at the 107th Precinct on September 3, 2024. Both individuals face multiple charges, including third-degree burglary, petit larceny, third-degree criminal trespass, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Authorities reported that the suspects illegally entered a building at 168-10 Goethals Avenue, part of the St. John's University campus, around 6 p.m. on August 20. They stole various items from the building before fleeing the scene on a moped heading west on Union Turnpike. No injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.

  • Young woman groped in store on East 86th Street

    MANHATTAN, NY — The New York Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly groped a 20-year-old woman at a business location near Lexington Avenue and East 86th Street on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

    The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. when the unknown man approached the victim from behind, grabbed her buttocks and then fled the scene. The woman was not injured.

    The suspect is described as a man who was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a light-colored baseball cap.

  • Urgent search for missing Bronx woman

    BRONX, NY — The New York Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating 52-year-old Earline Kidd, who was last seen leaving her Bronx apartment around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3.

    Kidd is described as a black female, 5'6″ tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a green shirt, blue pants and white socks.
