Drunk man threatens passerby with machete

Chemnitz- On Tuesday evening, a dangerous incident occurred between two men at the central station Chemnitz.

At around 6 p.m., a passerby (20) observed a man (36) approaching two women and apparently harassing them.

“The young man then spoke to him and told him to stop. The 36-year-old then suddenly pulled a machete out of his clothing and threatened him,” police said.

Forced personnel from the Operational Task Force (OEG) noticed what was happening, whereupon the machete-wielding man fled into a public bus.

The police were then able to stop the suspects in the bus, disarm them and confiscate the machete. The Italian repeatedly insulted and threatened the police officers.

“A breathalyzer test carried out with the device showed a value of 2.88 per mille. In addition, a preliminary drug test reacted positively for amphetamine,” the police said.
