One of the cheapest motorhomes: Forster Van now available for under 45,000 euros

The CMT holiday trade fair in Stuttgart brought out a number of highlights at the beginning of the year. Hymer, for example, presented the popular ML-T with a new interior concept, Rocket Camper has a motorhome for water sports enthusiasts and the Polish manufacturer Affinity is attracting attention with the stealth camper Freedom 540. The latter is only 5.40 metres long, just like the campervan presented here by the budget brand Forster.

Our colleagues from German television were already able to take a closer look at Forster’s new product at the CMT in Stuttgart.

And the Forster is cheap, very cheap for a new motorhome (see below). The price is well under the 50,000 euro mark and is poaching in the regions of high-quality small cars. Admittedly, these have to be equipped with high-end features.

Forster V 541 Youngster in pictures

Just like the Freedom, the Forster V 541 Youngster is based on the tried and tested Fiat Ducato with 140 hp. Thanks to a length of just 5.41 meters, you can also find space with this camper in normal parking spaces. And at first glance, the Forster Van doesn't necessarily look like a recreational vehicle, especially if you do without the side windows. But the best thing is: it costs about the same as a well-equipped Fiat 500 e!

The interior of the 2024 novelty is very flexible. What is striking is that the manufacturer has dispensed with the classic dinette in view of the short dimensions. With the driver and passenger seats turned, only one person can fit at the table. Sitting opposite each other is not possible.

But where other mobile homes usually have a back seat, the manufacturer has opted for an open space. This can be used in a variety of ways and can be equipped ex works. The mobile office version (additional charge of 1,600 euros) includes a lockable office cabinet with numerous connections for technical equipment and an extendable table. There are also additional reading lights.

Despite the compact dimensions of the vehicle, Forster found enough space for a bathroom with a shower. A folding bed is installed in the rear of the vehicle, which even moves up and down electrically. With a length of 1.80 meters and a maximum of 1.30 meters, it is not particularly large. There is storage space under the bed, which can be flexibly loaded using the bed's lifting mechanism. An emergency bed for a third person is also feasible here.

Model variant “Sunny”

If the youngster doesn't appeal to you, you might find an alternative in the model variant with the summery name “Sunny”. Here, the manufacturer has put two sun loungers in the rear, which can also function as a bed. There is also a comfortable seating area in the rear, which can be converted into a rear bed.

Price and availability

The basic price of the Forster Van 541 HB Youngster is well under 50,000 euros, at exactly 43,900 euros, making it a real bargain. When you consider what other motorhomes cost, the model can be described as a bargain. A well-equipped Fiat 500e can easily cost the same amount!
