Extradition hearing begins for mother accused of killing two of her children

LONDON – The Colorado Springs mother accused of killing two of her children was back in court in Britain to decide whether she will be extradited to the United States.

Kimberlee Singler is facing the following allegations regarding an incident in December:

• murder
• attempted murder
• Child abuse

Singler's defense attorney has also represented WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange during his extradition proceedings. Police found two of Singler's children dead when they rushed to their home in the Palomino Ranch Apartments in December last year.

In court on Wednesday, prosecutors said Singler's surviving daughter allegedly told a caregiver that her mother had killed her siblings.

Singler fled the country and was arrested in a British hotel on December 30.
