East Bay man forced CHP officer off moving motorcycle during chase and collided with federal agents a year later

OAKLAND – A Bay Area man has been sentenced to serve time in state and federal prison for two violent escape attempts, one of which ended with a California Highway Patrol trooper jumping off his motorcycle to avoid a collision.

Jose Alfaro Gamero was sentenced last month to 15 months in prison and ordered to pay $15,709 in restitution after pleading guilty to vandalizing U.S. Marshals vehicles. The ruling, handed down by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey White, ends Alfaro Gamero's two-count felony conviction. Last year, he was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of resisting arrest and hit-and-run.
