Seriously injured: Crash between two cars – person trapped in the wreckage

Yesterday evening, at 9:13 p.m., the Ebergassing Volunteer Fire Department, together with the Götzendorf, Wienerberg and Mannersdorf fire departments, was alerted to a serious traffic accident on the B15.

EBERGASSING/GÖTZENDORF. The accident occurred between Ebergassing and Götzendorf, and the emergency services were called to a head-on collision with people trapped. This was already the third call of the day for the Ebergassing fire department.

Since the Götzendorf fire department was still working on a forest fire in Mannersdorf at the time, the Wienerherberg fire department was also alerted as a precaution. The first emergency vehicle from the Ebergassing fire department arrived at the scene of the accident just a few minutes after the alarm was raised and found a completely wrecked vehicle that, for reasons that are still unknown, had come to a stop in the direction of Ebergassing after a head-on collision.

Fortunately, the driver of the vehicle was able to leave the wreckage on her own with only minor injuries. She was cared for by first responders and the emergency services that arrived on the scene.

Car on roof – person trapped

First responders alerted the emergency services on site to a second vehicle that had been involved in the accident and which had moved more than 100 meters away on its roof in a visible green area after the impact. A seriously injured and trapped person was found in this vehicle.

“While the fire protection was being set up and the accident site was being secured and illuminated, the barely responsive person was freed and handed over to the emergency services together with the team from the Götzendorf Red Cross who had arrived in the meantime.”

said Rene Heinrich, press spokesman for the Ebergassing Volunteer Fire Department.

After the police had recorded the accident, the heavily damaged vehicles were recovered using a crane vehicle from the Mannersdorf-Leithagebirge fire department and safely parked at the Ebergassing community's construction yard. The road was cleared of vehicle parts and cleaned over a length of around 150 meters.

The operation lasted a total of almost two hours. The police are conducting further investigations into the cause of the accident.
