Roma striker Dovbyk leaves Ukrainian national team due to injury

Roma striker Artem Dovbyk will miss the Nations League matches with the Ukrainian national team in September due to injury and will return to the capital for further medical tests.

On Thursday, Ukraine announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Roma striker Dovbyk would not be available for the upcoming Nations League matches against Albania and the Czech Republic.

“Artem Dovbyk will miss the Nations League matches in September due to injury,” Ukraine said.

Dovbyk is already on his way to the capital to have his injury examined by Roma doctors.

Ukraine added on their official website that Dovbyk sustained the injury before the Giallorossi's international break and has therefore been unable to train with the rest of the national team in recent days.

The 27-year-old Dovbyk joined Roma from Girona for €30.5 million in the 2024 summer transfer window and has yet to score a goal in three competitive matches for the Giallorossi.

After the September break, Roma will visit Alberto Gilardino's Genoa in Marassi on September 15th.
