Alison Brie plays Evil-Lyn in the live-action film “Masters of the Universe”

Los Angeles: GLOW Star Alison Brie is the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming live-action feature film Master of the Universewhich comes from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films.

The project is based on Mattel's famous toy series, which spawned a successful animated television series in 1983 and a film in 1987 starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man.

According to Variety, Brie will play supervillain Evil-Lyn in the film, while Nicholas Galitzine will play the lead hero He-Man.

While plot details are kept secret, it is known that the story follows Prince Adam of Eternia, who transforms into the muscular He-Man.

“With the help of his magical energy sword, the hero must defend his home planet from the evil wizard Skeletor. Evil-Lyn is Skeletor's deputy and carries a magic wand with a crystal ball on top,” the synopsis says.

Travis Knight, known for Kubo – The Brave Samurai And bumblebeeis on board to lead Master of the Universewhich has been in development for a long time.

Chris Butler wrote the screenplay after David Callaham and Aaron and Adam Nee wrote the first drafts. Robbie Brenner of Mattel Films, Todd Black of Escape Artists, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are producing.

Also starring: Camila Mendes as Teela, captain of the royal guard and temporary lover of He-Man, Master of the Universe The release is scheduled for June 5, 2026.
