England captain Jos Buttler misses the T20I series against Australia T20 due to injury

Due to a right calf injury, England's T20I and ODI captain will miss his team's upcoming T20 home series against Australia.

With Buttler out, Phil Salt will lead the team, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Thursday.

However, Buttler is expected to return for the five-match ODI series against Australia, which will be played after the three T20Is.

Buttler's successor has been named as all-rounder Jamie Overton, who will make his Test debut in 2022. Jordan Cox, who has yet to play an international match, has also been included in the ODI squad as a replacement after previously being named in the T20 squad.

The T20 series will be played from September 11 to 15, while the ODI series will be played from September 19 to 29.
