Ready to get scared? Here is a list of haunted houses in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – With fall fast approaching, haunted houses in San Antonio are getting ready to open. Below is a list of the most popular haunted houses in San Antonio.

13th floor

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, this world-famous haunted house is sure to give you thrills and chills. It will open on September 13th and will be open on select nights through November 9th.

One of the new, terrifying themes is Dead Again, which depicts a global climate change in which the virus Necrotherma Virulenta has emerged and is turning people into ravenous zombies. The virus is spreading rapidly. The question remains: can you stop the spread and save humanity?

Also new this year is The Grymm, where Little Red Riding Hood becomes the keeper of a possessed, enchanted storybook. But when opened during a blood moon, these monstrous stories come to life, causing chaos for all who get in their way.

According to USA Today, “13th Floor” is one of the five scariest haunted houses in the United States.

Horror festival at Six Flags Fiesta Texas

From September 7 to November 3, Fright Fest will make fans scream. Netflix's “Stranger Things” and Warner Bros. Discovery's “The Conjuring Universe” will be presented as two new immersive experiences this fall.

The Warner Bros. Discovery experience includes a tour of the scariest movie hits.

“Buckle up for a tour of the Warrens' most hair-raising and gruesome cases, including those that inspired 'The Conjuring,' 'Annabelle,' and 'The Nun.' Each investigation will make you the target of possession through encounters with cursed artifacts,” says a Six Flags press release.

The theme park will feature six haunted houses, six heavily themed scare zones and dynamic entertainment throughout the Halloween season. Fright Fest will take over the Six Flags park in the evening and there's less spooky fun during the day at Kids Boo Fest and Oktoberfest.

Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld

To fuel your nightmares even further, Howl-O-Scream returns with even scarier experiences, including six horror haunts and eight “terror-tories.” From September 13 to October 27, centuries-old vampires, hideous robots, sinister wizards and other nightmares will come to life in the park.

“Till Death Do Us Part” is the new horror story “where the party never stops…not even in the afterlife,” says SeaWorld’s website.

Terrorland Haunted Adventure

This experience is not your typical haunted house. Terrorland is a haunted hayride on a mountain trail in the southeast. From September 27th to November 2nd, Terrorland presents “Expedition Terror.” Evil is hiding behind every tree, so you are warned to be on your guard.

“But most of all, avoid getting bitten by anything that lives there! Even a small scratch from the wrong creature could result in your death,” says the Terrorland website.
