Sexual harassment harassed two children and a man in Runcorn within 45 minutes

Mohammad Alhadi was imprisoned after attempting to incite three people to engage in sexual acts and sexually abusing a child in public.

All offences occurred in Runcorn on Tuesday 7 May. The defendant approached a 15-year-old boy on Halton Brook Avenue and claimed he needed the boy's help.

While 26-year-old Alhadi was talking to the boy, he made a sexually suggestive hand gesture in his direction and then touched the victim's genitals over his pants.

The victim was shaken by the incident and fled, but managed to take a photograph of Alhadi before leaving the scene, which Cheshire Police later used to link him to the incident.

Shortly afterwards, Alhadi was sitting on a bench near City Fields when he chatted with a passing 21-year-old dog owner.

During the conversation, he began making inappropriate comments towards the dog owner before asking him to have sex with him.

Alhadi then made gestures of a sexual nature towards him before putting his hands down his own pants and touching himself inappropriately.

He was then chased away by the victim.

In the final incident, which occurred shortly thereafter, Alhadi approached a second 15-year-old boy who was walking home from school and asked for help.

The boy asked what he needed, to which Alhadi replied “sex” and offered him £10.

The boy walked away from the accused, who followed him and repeatedly asked him to have sexual intercourse. The boy later told his parents about the incident.

After receiving descriptions and photographs of Alhadi from all three victims, Cheshire Police officers were able to locate and arrest him at his home address on Halton Brook Avenue the following day, May 8.

When he was arrested, officers confiscated the clothes he was wearing in the photograph taken by the first 15-year-old boy he approached.

During his questioning by the officers, Alhadi was shown this photo and he replied that this was not him, but someone dressed very similarly to him.

He also denied approaching the three victims, soliciting them for sex, touching himself and touching the genitals of one of the 15-year-old boys.

Despite his denials, Alhadi was charged with sexual assault and later pleaded guilty.

Appearing at Chester Crown Court on Monday, Judge Simon Berkson sentenced him to eight months in prison.

He was also given a restraining order against the first 15-year-old boy and a sexual abuse protection order that he must abide by for the next ten years.

PC Haddon Hunter of Cheshire Police in Runcorn welcomed the verdict, saying: “I would like to commend Alhadi's victims for their bravery in coming forward to the police and having the courage to speak about it.”

“As a result, Alhadi was imprisoned and must now face the consequences of his cruel actions.

“Not only has Alhadi been sentenced to a prison term, but upon his release he will be closely monitored by our officers, under the conditions of a restraining order against one of his victims and a sexual violence prevention order.

“I hope that today's outcome will give victims of incidents of this nature the reassurance that all allegations will be thoroughly investigated by the police and that we will always listen to them and do our best to get them the justice they deserve.”
