All right, all right, all right – Matthew McConaugheyThe eldest son is ready to follow in the footsteps of his famous father.

According to Deadline, 16-year-old Levi has been cast in Apple's upcoming film The Path of the Warrior Child. Levi is set to appear in a supporting role, but further details have yet to be announced.

The Path of the Warrior Child is based on Jocko Willink's bestselling novel with a screenplay by Will Staples. McG is set to direct the film, which follows a boy suffering from self-doubt named Marc (Jude Hill) after being bullied at school. With the help of his Navy SEAL uncle Jake (Chris Pratt), March learns to find his inner warrior.

The film will be Levi's acting debut. He is the eldest son of McConaughey, 54, and his wife Camila AlvesThe couple, who have been married since 2014, also have a daughter, Vida, 14, and a son, Livingston, 11.

“You know, it's interesting because when you have young children, you're physically exhausted, right? And I feel like when you become a teenager … it's almost like you need more energy,” Alves, 41, said exclusively We weekly in July 2022 of parenthood. “You need more brain power because it's all about the mind, right? It's like a teenager [is] trying to find their identity and figure out how they're going to navigate their lives. So I think that… for me, it's more challenging in a good way.”

She continued: “When it comes to the ability to really lead a young man or a young woman, you need a different kind of brain to… you know, brain power [and] lead [or] to get through it. But it's beautiful. It's inspiring. It also makes you look at a lot of things that you do as an adult, you know, when you get to that stage. … It's a beautiful stage.”

McConaughey and Alves are raising their three children in Texas and often shield them from the public eye. For Levi's 15th birthday in July 2023, he was allowed to participate in social media for the first time.

“We've talked about this for a long time,” McConaughey said in an Instagram video. “I want you all to know that you're getting to see a very cool and respectful young man, Levi McConaughey, and I hope you can all do your best to treat him the same. Levi, enjoy the adventure, share your story, express yourself and engage with the people out there.”

The actor continued, “He knows where he's going. I think he can handle it. He has a great story to tell and to pass on.”

Levi turned 16 at the beginning of the summer.

“Okay, Levi. You're getting to that age, buddy. You're on your own soon,” McConaughey joked in an Instagram video in July. “Your mom and I hope we did the best job we could. You won't really have us as a safety net out there in this wonderful, wild world. Be aware of your surroundings. Be yourself. Know when to say yes and when to say no. Know when to say maybe. See the good in everyone else, but know that not everyone else is always paying attention.”
