One driver injured in crash on Highway 40 near Willmar, Minnesota – West Central Tribune

WILLMAR – A Willmar woman was injured Thursday morning when two vehicles collided on Minnesota Highway 40 west of Willmar.

Gloria Medina Almada, 49, suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was treated at CentraCare – Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report. She was traveling westbound on Highway 40 in a 2006 Honda Civic, and a 2021 GMC pickup truck driven by Nathan James Curtis, 21, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, was also traveling westbound. The two vehicles collided near the intersection of 75th Street Southwest.

Curtis was injured and a passenger in the Honda – Sara Medina, 51, of Willmar – was also injured.

According to the report, all three were wearing seat belts and no alcohol was involved. The roads were described as wet at the time the accident was reported at 6:53 a.m. Thursday.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office assisted the Minnesota State Patrol on the scene in St. Johns Township. According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's media report, the Pennock Fire Department, Pennock First Responders and Kandiyohi County EMS were also on scene.
