In Hyderabad, duty-free liquor worth Rs 385,000 was seized

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]September 6 (ANI): Customs police seized untaxed liquor worth Rs 385,000 from RTC Cross Roads in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Police said the accused, Gopal Agrawal, a resident of Attapur, brought the liquor from Chandigarh in a vehicle. He tried to sell it in Hyderabad at a higher price.

“The accused had bought the alcohol in Chandigarh for Rs 132,000 and wanted to sell it in Hyderabad for Rs 400,000. He wanted to make a profit by selling the alcohol in Hyderabad at a higher price,” police said in a press release.

The seizure was carried out by Musheerabad Excise Police Station CI Ramakrishna at RTC Cross Roads near Metro station. The accused was trying to transfer the liquor to another vehicle when the police caught him.

Hyderabad Deputy Customs Commissioner KAB Shastri thanked the CI and his team for the seizure. (ANI)
