LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – A Clatonia man was arrested Wednesday after attempting to run over people with a tractor in rural Gage County, the sheriff's office said.

At around 3:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to a property near Southwest 100th Road and West Buckeye Road, south of Clatonia.

Officers from the Saline County Sheriff's Office were also called to assist.

The sheriff's office said an 80-year-old man was arguing with a neighbor over “property access” when he got into a tractor and tried to block the other's access to the property.

The argument escalated when the man rammed the tractor into a forklift driven by the neighbor, the sheriff's office said.

The man then nearly ran over workers the neighbor had hired, authorities said.

He was arrested on suspicion of three counts of third-degree assault and second-degree trespassing.
