The accused for stone throwing was transferred from Chhatarpur district jail to other prisons, the main accused to Bhopal

BHOPAL/Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Unable to ensure security and accommodate the accused in the stone pelting case, the Chhatarpur jail administration is shifting the accused to other jails in the state, officials said on Thursday. The main accused has been shifted to Bhopal Central Jail.

Deputy Superintendent of Prisons Ram Shiromani Pandey said that the accused in the stone-pelting case who were taken to jail after their arrest would be shifted to other prisons in the state.

He said that the capacity of the district jail was 292 inmates, but there were about 500 inmates there, including the accused in the stone-pelting case, and that more inmates were being shifted to other jails in the state for security reasons.

He added that the transferred prisoners would be produced before the court through online video conferencing and would be taken to Chhatarpur only in extreme emergencies.

He said the main accused in the stone-pelting case, Haji Shahzad Ali, has been transferred to Bhopal Central Jail.

Many have been taken to Sagar Central Jail, Gwalior Central Jail and Satna Central Jail, he said.

Two other accused in the case were arrested by the Chhatarpur police.

CSP Aman Mishra informed that 45 accused have been arrested in this case so far. The two accused arrested were Irfan Rayen and a minor. They were roaming around the city after changing their outfit to fool the police.

One of them was sent to prison and another to a youth home.
