Justin Theroux has revealed that Jennifer Aniston is “still very important” to him.

The actor, who announced his engagement to Nicole Brydon Bloom last week, opened up about the bond he still shares with the 'Friends' star, who announced their split in 2017 after two years of marriage. He reflected on how she recently called out Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance for his negative comments about “childless cat women.” Justin told The Times newspaper: “I'm still very attached to her, so of course I feel protective.” But she's fended off the criticism, as she should.” The 53-year-old star also spoke about his excitement about his engagement to Nicole after over a year of dating, although he admitted he was “nervous” before popping the question. He said: “Of course I was nervous when I proposed. It's only a question, after all, and the answer isn't guaranteed. But it's been wonderful.”

In 2021, Justin spoke about how close he and Jennifer have remained since their split because she didn't have “that dramatic breakup.” At the time, he told Esquire, “I'm right when I say I value our friendship. We can't be together and still give each other joy and friendship.” He revealed that his ex-wife – who he officially divorced in 2018 – makes him “laugh a lot.” “It would be a loss if we were no longer in touch, for me personally.
